Government to unveil nine city centres for nationwide smart ID replacement

It will be rolled out by the end of 2018.

The Immigration Department will roll out nine city centres across the city as part of the government’s push to replace residents’ smart identity cards.

The citywide launch will be rolled out by the end of the year, according to a government release.

On-site services for senior citizens and PWDs will be provided. The coverage of the citywide replacement exercise will include more than 1,000 residential care homes in remote districts.

All card replacement centres will be equipped with barrier-free access and facilities and self-service kiosks will also be made available for easy application and collection.
