2013 Lunar New Year fair stalls gear up for auction

Opening prices will range from $510-$8,750 for wet goods stalls.

According to a government news release, the 2013 Lunar New Year fair stalls will be put up for open auction starting from October 24, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department announced today.

The opening prices will range from $510 to $8,750 for wet goods stalls, $600 to $11,460 for dry goods stalls, and $6,130 to $301,920 for fast food stalls. Eight thematic stalls will be set up in Victoria Park to sell festive commodities and their opening price is $33,550.

The five fairs on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon will be at Victoria Park in Eastern District, Fa Hui Park and Cheung Sha Wan Playground in Sham Shui Po, Morse Park in Wong Tai Sin and Hong Ning Road Recreation Ground in Kwun Tong.

Auctions for these stalls will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium from October 24 to 25, and from October 29 to November 1.

There will be nine fairs in the New Territories including those at Sha Tsui Road Playground, Tsuen Wan; Kwai Chung Sports Ground, Kwai Tsing; Shek Pai Tau Playground, Tuen Mun; and Tung Tau Industrial Area Playground, Yuen Long.

Auctions for these stalls will be held on November 2, November 5 to 8, November 12 to 13, and November 15.
