What to watch out for at the 'Hong Kong: Our Home' line up
Concerts and workshops to be held.
This week’s events for the ‘Hong Kong: Our Home’ campaign include a lunchtime concert, fishing skills workshops, ping pong, and a design camp.
A free concert at City Hall by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the first in a series of six, will be held at 12.45pm on June 25.
On June 30, Fishermen Apprentice Workshops in Aberdeen will offer participants a taste of life and work at sea.
Apprentices will be taken out on fishing boats up to 70 feet long, to learn basic skills like work safety, lifesaving and inshore fishing methods such as cage trapping.
Two more workshops will be organised in July, during which fishermen will teach people the difference between a fresh sea catch and those from fish farms.
The "Celebration of the 16th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR - Hong Kong 18 District Table Tennis Challenge" will be held on June 30, with 24 teams competing.
Preliminary rounds start at 9am at the Yuen Long Fung Kam Street Sports Centre, and final rounds will take place at Yuen Long Plaza at noon.
Other activities include the World Design Summer Camp 2013 to be held from June 27 to July 11, and the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme which accepts applications until July 2.
