The Shenzhen-based company is already listed on the New York stock exchange. Last March, it first announced its plans to pursue a secondary listing, joining some Chinese firms seeking alternative listings as Sino-US tensions could spell delisting risks. The listing in Hong Kong would only be by way of introduction. This means Tencent Music won’t be selling new shares or raising fresh funds.
