Manufacturing industrial production index up 0.3% in Q3
Food, beverage and tobacco output volume rose 2.8%.
The index of industrial production for manufacturing industries rose 0.3% in Q3 with a corresponding 3.7% increase in producer price index (PPI), according to the provisional results of a survey from the Census and Statistics Department.
The index of industrial production for sewerage, waste management and remediation activities increased by 1.4% YoY in Q3. The corresponding PPI also increased by 3.1% YoY.
An increase in output volume was recorded in the food, beverages and tobacco industry (+2.8%) whilst decreases were recorded mainly in the textiles and wearing apparel industry (-4.0%); the paper products, printing and reproduction of recorded media industry (-1.6%); and the metal, computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment industry (-1.1%).
Indices of industrial production reflect changes in the volume of local industrial output after discounting the effect of price changes, according to the C&SD.
