More Hong Kong IPOs predicted to come burgeoning this year
Around 80 IPOs in second half.
PwC said investors in publicly traded Chinese shares will probably be able to choose from a larger number of Hong Kong IPOs in the second half of the year than the first.
PwC said it expects the number of IPOs in Hong Kong will to range from 70 to 80, with fundraising of US$19 billion. In the first half, Hong Kong has only 23 new listings that raised US$5.1 billion.
That suggests the total number of IPOs in Hong Kong in the second half could reach 5 or nearly two and a half times the figure from the first half. At 23, the number of IPOs in the first half was lower than a corresponding 32 cases in the first half of 2012.
The amount of funds raised this year, however, rose by 28%. PwC said this shows a strong appetite for new listings.
