Hong Kong investors take 'aggressive' approach, seek personalised advice
Almost half of HNWIs investors use advisory services.
Hong Kong investors take far more aggressive investment approaches (42%) compared to global peers, according to the Avaloq 2024 investor survey.
Almost half (49%) of the 3,012 high net worth individuals (HNWI) polled use advisory or discretionary (26%) services, whilst fewer respondents in this market manage their own investments (57%).
Over half or 58% said they want more personalised investment recommendations.
However, 47% of wealth management professionals have difficulty in accessing existing client data that would have helped them provide these recommendations.
Sixty-seven (67%) of professional respondents also stated that data is not seamlessly integrated across systems and 64% needed to use many systems to complete tasks.
Respondents’ top areas for improvement highlighted were simplified client onboarding (81%), enhanced data visualisation (79%), and enhanced data analytics (76%).
