New funding round for professional organisations starts June 1
The government allocated $200m to subsidise non-profit industry projects.
From June 1 to August 31, non-profit organisations may apply for funding under the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme.
Eligible organisations encompass professional bodies, trade groups, and research institutes spanning accounting, law, architecture, engineering, healthcare, ICT, and design sectors.
Applications from sector-specific and cross-sectoral projects are welcomed.
The scheme allocates $200m to subsidise non-profit industry-led projects that boost exchange and cooperation between Hong Kong’s professional services sector and external counterparts, promote publicity, and enhance standards and competitiveness.
The maximum grant for each approved project is $3m or 90% of the total project cost, whichever is less.
As of early May, the government has funded over 100 projects involving project deliverables in Hong Kong and elsewhere.
In addition, the government has set aside $50m to launch the Professionals Participation Subsidy Programme under the scheme.
The programme will subsidise Hong Kong's professional bodies to engage in activities led by the Government and the Trade Development Council to showcase the city's competitive edge and professional services to Mainland cities and global markets.
The programme will welcome applications throughout the year, with submissions processed quarterly.
