James Mirfin is PayPal country manager for Hong Kong and Taiwan

Will be responsible for accelerating local business growth.

Online payments company PayPal said Mirfin will primarily focus on expanding PayPal use among consumers; extending PayPal’s merchant network in Hong Kong and Taiwan and managing relationships with regulatory bodies.

He is also responsible for enhancing product localization and promoting the benefits of PayPal as an international payments platform to merchants and consumers in Hong Kong and Taiwan

Prior to joining PayPal, Mirfin was vice president and general manager of American Express’ global payment options business. He spent close to a decade in leadership positions at American Express in the Asia-Pacific region.

He holds a BA degree in business from the University of Plymouth. He represented Canadian insurer Sun Life Financial when it teamed up with Malaysia’s Khazanah to acquire CIMB-Aviva Takaful Bhd.
