CreateHK funds fashion and computer graphics exhibitions
The organization will also sponsor Business of Design Week 2011 and the Hong Kong Creative Force Pavilion.
Create Hong Kong has provided funding support to hold two exhibitions - Fashion Visionaries, and the ACM SIGGRAPH Conference & Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques in Asia 2011.
The events, to be held later this year, will demonstrate the development of fashion design and computer graphics and interactive technologies in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association is organising Fashion Visionaries, which will feature works by renowned designers, movie art directors, fashion photographers, illustrators and upcoming designers.
Fashion models' photographs and information will be displayed from November 5 to March 12 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Educational activities will also be arranged including six seminars targeting secondary students and the general public, and three workshops for primary students and their parents.
SIGGRAPH Asia takes place in different cities in Asia each year, and serves as an international platform for the industry to engage in exchanges and learn new technologies.
The Hong Kong ACM SIGGRAPH Professional Chapter, with funding support from CreateHK, successfully won the bid to host the conference in Hong Kong for the first time on December 12 to 15 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
About 9,000 visitors from 45 countries are expected to take part in the four-day conference and exhibition joined by more than 100 exhibitors, including some well-known companies in the trade, according to a CreateHK report.
CreateHK will provide funding to set up a pavilion to showcase the works of both local industry players and tertiary students. It will also sponsor more than 3,000 conference passes for senior secondary and tertiary students taking relevant courses to let them get a glimpse of world-class works.
Several creative events sponsored by CreateHK will be rolled out in the coming months, including the Business of Design Week 2011 and the Hong Kong Creative Force Pavilion to be set up in the Inno Design Tech Expo 2011.
