NIA allows visa-free entry of cruise tourists at provinces along coastline
This is seen to solidify the country’s position as a cruise hub.
The National Immigration Administration (NIA) has relaxed rules for foreign tourist groups aboard cruise ships by allowing them to enter provinces along the country’s coastline without a visa.
This move was welcomed by the Hong Kong government.
According to the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau, the new policy will attract more international cruise lines to ports in Mainland China and Hong Kong, leveraging on the latter’s role as a core demonstration zone for multi-destination tourism and promoting the development of its cruise industry.
