Hong Kong launches Maintenance Mediation Pilot Scheme
The three-year pilot scheme is expected to process a total of 1,200 cases.
The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau has launched the Maintenance Mediation Pilot Scheme through the Community Care Fund to assist concerned parties in resolving disputes through mediation rather than court proceedings.
The three-year pilot scheme is expected to process a total of 1,200 cases, benefitting 2,400 separating persons.
Parties involved in maintenance payment disputes are eligible to apply free of charge, provided that one is a Hong Kong resident and meets the income limit.
The bureau has appointed the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society as the service operator of the scheme.
