Gov't issues resumption notices for Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen NDA
It is expected to provide approximately 66,700 new housing units.
The Lands Department has issued a second batch of notices for the resumption of 297 private lots, covering an area of approximately 17.7 hectares, as part of the second phase of development for the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area (NDA).
The lots include sites where no applications were submitted by the April deadline under the Enhanced Conventional New Town Approach, as well as one site where an application was rejected for not meeting land exchange criteria.
These private lots will revert to the government on 20 December, with ex-gratia compensation provided to the landowners afterwards.
The government has already reclaimed about 176 hectares from the first batch of resumption notices, which is gradually being transferred to the Civil Engineering & Development Department for site formation and infrastructure works.
Once fully developed, the NDA is expected to provide approximately 66,700 new housing units for a population of about 184,000, the department said.
The industrial and commercial land in the NDA will offer 6.4 million sqm of gross floor area, creating around 150,000 job opportunities, it added.
