Subsidised rents for two new housing estates revealed

Best rent set at $64.4 per sq m a month.

According to the Housing Authority, two new public housing estates to be completed between August and December will provide 10,223 new flats at low rental prices.

Their rent will be set at the current best level of their districts, with more than 89% set at less than $2,000 per month.

The best rent at $64.4 per square metre per month for urban district flats will apply to the 8,164 flats at Tak Long Estate (Kai Tak Development Site 1B Phases 1-3).

The best rent at $56.4 per square metre per month for Tseung Kwan O flats will apply to 2,059 flats at Yee Ming Estate (Tseung Kwan O Area 65B).

The rents are heavily subsidised, and include rates as well as management and maintenance costs.
