Nearly half of consumers set to join Black Friday shopping craze
Hong Kongers are expected to spend an average of $825.
Nearly half (45%) of Hong Kong consumers expect to participate in the Black Friday shopping craze by November which represents an increase from 38% who participated in 2017, according to discount voucher firm Picodi.

Of this number, the majority of consumers (81.82%) will join the shopping frenzy via online stores whilst the rest opt for traditional offline option or both online and in-stores.
An average Hong Konger spends around $825 (US$105) for his/her Black Friday haul which is around US$62 less than what Singaporeans and $15 less than Vietnamese spend, the report added, with clothes, electronics and shoes emerging as the most popular items to buy.
Black Friday is amongst the most popular online shopping festivals in Hong Kong along with Amazon Prime Day, trailing only behind Alibaba's Singles Day, according to a report from GS1 Hong Kong and KPMG China.
