Transport Department auctions 350 vehicle registration marks
Applicants who paid a $1000 deposit must also bid.
The Transport Department will auction off 350 traditional vehicle registration marks at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai on 14 September.
Applicants who paid a HK$1,000 deposit to reserve a mark must also participate in the bidding. Otherwise, the mark may be sold to another bidder.
Participants must also present complete documents upon successful bid, then pay through EPS and complete the Memorandum of Sale of Registration Mark.
Successful bidders must apply to the Commissioner for Transport to assign the registration mark to their vehicle within 12 months.
A mark can only be assigned to a vehicle registered in the name of the bidder, whilst special registration marks are non-transferable.
