Macdonald & Co brings environmental practice to Hong Kong
Leading property recruitment specialist Macdonald & Company has announced the opening of its APAC Environmental and Energy practice in Hong Kong.
The first of its kind in the APAC region, the new practice brings much needed recruitment services and support to the region’s fast growing environmental and energy sectors, especially in mainland China.
Macdonald & Company has appointed Chris Kiernan head of the Environmental and Energy practice for Asia Pacific. Mr Kiernan has spent a number of years accruing experience in the environmental sector at Macdonald & Company’s London office, where he has been working across professional disciplines globally with major consulting and corporate clients.
“I am very excited about coming to Hong Kong, and introducing the APAC region to Macdonald & Company’s unique expertise in recruiting for the environmental and energy sectors,” said Chris. “Hong Kong, mainland China, and the rest of the region are experiencing an economic miracle that presents a number of energy and environmental challenges, and the very best talent is needed to find innovative solutions. No one does that better than Macdonald & Company.”
In Hong Kong, the government has also launched an environmental initiative aimed at reducing CO2 emissions 50 to 60 percent from 2005 levels by 2020, and many local businesses are seeking to “green up” by cutting energy costs and increasing energy efficiency.
“The explosive growth in Asia Pacific has opened up a wave of recruitment opportunities in the energy and environmental sector, and Macdonald & Company is deeply committed to helping Chinese and international businesses solve the enormous challenges they face,” said William Buck, managing director at Macdonald & Company. “Our technical expertise and deep understanding across all industries and sectors puts us in a unique position to recruit top talent, and with our new APAC practice, we’re on the ground and ready to serve our clients with the strategic market knowledge, insight and leadership they need.”
