Moscow Expo to strengthen HK ties with Russia
Exhibit will run until 14 November.
Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing will kick off Hong Kong’s first exhibition in Moscow today, aimed at building stronger cultural and economic links with Russia.
The exhibition “Journey to Hong Kong” comprises four zones – city life, harbour, cultural heritage and green Hong Kong – that provide visitors with a snapshot of unique aspects of life in Asia’s world city.
It will run until November 14 at the Chinese Cultural Centre with assistance from the Chinese Ministry of Culture and China's Embassy in Russia.
The city life zone features a replica tram stop, a panorama of the Hong Kong Island skyline and information on how to explore Hong Kong.
Information on major harbour events such as the “Symphony of Lights”, the cross-harbour swim and International Dragon Boat festival will be staged in the harbour zone.
Martial arts movies, Cantonese Opera, traditional festivals and local cuisine are highlights of the the cultural heritage zone.
The green Hong Kong zone introduces the city’s rich and diverse natural heritage including the Geopark, wetlands, beaches and urban greenery.
The exhibition is part of the “Hong Kong Week” in Moscow, which aims to promote Hong Kong's unique and diversified culture to a Russian audience.
