HK is Asian market with the third most expensive hotel room rate
Hong Kong hotel room rate per night is $1,928 (US$246).
Staying in Asia remains in demand as travel resumes, Hong Kong is reported to be the third most expensive market to stay in Asia, FCM Consulting’s report showed.
It is higher than Seoul hotel rates but Singapore’s rates are higher than Hong Kong’s. Tokyo dominated the rankings in Asia, with $2,241 (US$286) per night.
Beijing posted the highest increase which grew 12% to $1,371 (US$175) per night. Shanghai saw an increase of 5% bringing it to $1,097 (USD$140) per night.
Global occupancy for the year-to-date June 2023 was 63.3% which is 96% recovered to 2019. In Asia, India posted the highest occupancy with Mumbai reaching 101%, and New Delhi at 97%, followed by China with Shanghai at 95%, and Beijing at 93%.
