Hong Kong issues black travel alert for Bangkok
As Thailand declares 60-day state of emergency.
According to a report, the Security Bureau tonight raised the outbound travel alert for Bangkok to black, while the alert for other parts of Thailand remains amber.
The level was raised after the Thai government declared a 60-day state of emergency for the kingdom's capital.
The bureau urged Hong Kong people to avoid all travel to Bangkok, and reminded those already there to avoid protests and large gatherings.
It said it will monitor the situation and issue updates through the media and the bureau's travel alert webpage.
Hong Kong residents in Thailand who need assistance can call the Immigration Department’s hotline (852)1868.
