Macau's gaming table revenue edged 13.2% to $845m
Blame it on the World Cup fever.
According to Barclays, June month-to-date average daily table revenue at HK$845mn remained much lower than the HK$973mn a day seen in May, and noted that it believes this is due to the continued weakening VIP volume trends with potentially some impact from the World Cup.
Here's more from Barclays:
June GGR could see 5.3% y/y decline: If we assume the rest of the month sees table revenue of HK$775mn per day as per last week and add our slot revenue full-month assumption of HK$1.2bn, we estimate total gross gaming revenue for June could be at HK$26.0bn, which would imply a decline of 5.3% y/y.
Stock price sentiment for the Macau gaming stocks appears to have remained weak on concerns from the VIP slowdown and World Cup impact on GGR.
