MGM Hospitality to expand in Hong Kong
Aside from Hong Kong, the company plans to enter in 7 other Asian countries through its Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Sky Lofts brands.
MGM Hospitality on Thursday announced its plans to expand its portfolio of high profile hospitality brands across the Asia market. This announcement marks the company’s goal to become a key player in the non-gaming, hospitality industry in Asia. Building upon its success in global hospitality hubs such as Las Vegas and Macau, MGM Hospitality plans to expand its three pillar brands in Asia—Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Sky Lofts.
MGM Hospitality aims to use its experience from other markets to create hospitality destinations in Asia, which offer more than just luxury, high-profile hotels. The company’s experience with entertainment and restaurant management from other key markets will also be brought to Asia to the benefit of all new projects the company secures in this market.
MGM Hospitality plans to enter China, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Jakarta, Saigon, Hanoi, Bali, Phuket, and Bangkok markets very shortly.
The company has prioritized the China and India markets, tapping into China’s fast-growing economy, increasing wealth, and in India, the dearth of five-star luxury hotels with strong F&B offerings. Several new MGM Hospitality projects are currently in the pipeline in both markets including the MGM Grand, in Sanya Hainan which is due to open later this year, as well as new hotels in Mumbai and Delhi in India.
“Asia is a strategic priority for MGM Hospitality’s global expansion. We aim to become a key player in the non-gaming, hospitality industry in the region, said Michael Sagild, Managing Director, Asia Pacific Development, MGM Hospitality. “As part of our expansion strategy in Asia, we aim to secure management agreements with asset owners and developers under our three pillar brands - Bellagio, MGM Grand, and Sky Lofts.”
“MGM Hospitality’s expansion marks the strengthening of our ability to operate across markets and we are committed to replicating our success in developing and managing premier hospitality in the US, in the Asia region,” added Mr. Sagild.
As a hotel management company, MGM Hospitality’s purchasing and procurement offering make the company an attractive choice for asset owners across the globe. MGM Hospitality aims to become a world leader in experiential hospitality by conceiving, developing, operating and marketing innovative hotels in strategic destinations in the Asia region and world wide.
MGM Hospitality’s three pillar brands will offer landmark hotel destination experiences in Asia which will be tailored to the interests of the local population, while maintaining appeal as locations of choice for international travelers. An iconic Las Vegas landmark, the Bellagio is the ultimate luxury hotel epitomizing prestige and elegance. MGM Grand is an integrated hotel destination offering guests an unparalleled entertainment experience. Sky Lofts offers high-altitude luxury penthouse suites with masterful design and cutting-edge digitization, according to an MGM Hospitality report.
MGM Hospitality also develops and manages luxury retail facilities within its hotels, as well as MGM Grand Residences and Bellagio-branded full-service residences that form an integral part of MGM Hospitality’s full suite of services and unique offerings.
