Comba Telecoms finishes 2G/3G wireless enhancement project for Qingdao Bay Bridge
17 coverage points were set up along a 26.75km stretch of Qingdao Bay Bridge for subscribers to avail 2G/3G services of Chinese mobile networks.
Comba Telecom Systems Holdings Limited (“Comba”), a global leading wireless enhancement solutions provider, announced that it has completed a 2G/3G wireless enhancement project at Qingdao Bay Bridge.
On 30 June, Qingdao Bay Bridge, the longest cross-sea bridge in the world, was opened to traffic.
The strong signal coverage of the bridge elicited widespread appreciation from users. Leveraging its track record in providing quality large-scale turnkey solutions and leading-edge technology, Comba secured the signal coverage design and implementation projects from China’s three largest telecom operators, namely China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, and was the major equipment provider in this project.
A total of 17 coverage points were set up along a 26.75 kilometer stretch of the bridge in the Qingdao Bay Bridge 2G/3G wireless enhancement solution project to cover a number of mobile networks including China Mobile’s 2G/3G networks, China Unicom’s 2G/3G networks and China Telecom’s 2G network. Comba’s equipment including RRU (Remote Radio Unit), POI (Point-Of-Interface) and camouflaged antenna were widely deployed in this project. The Qingdao’s Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel, which commenced service at the same period of time, has also adopted Comba’s equipment for its signal coverage, according to a Comba report.
Mr Tony TL Fok, Chairman and President of Comba, said, “We are delighted to participate in such a landmark project. The application and implementation of our equipment and solutions enable the operators to provide a secure, reliable, and non-stop stable wireless network service to customers. This has also gained us the trust from our customers and is the key reason why the three largest operators have chosen Comba Telecom to be their partner.”
